Since 1972, when Frank Beck opened a small office, the company has grown substantially, specializing in the cable television and restaurant franchise industries, handling hundreds of franchises in locations throughout the United States and overseas. We have also developed special expertise in litigation support, business valuations and tax and estate planning.
Although we have grown consistently over the years, our goal has never been to become so large that any one of our clients could become neglected. Each of our clients is just as important to us as if they were a Fortune 500 corporation.
At Beck, Villata & Co. we are committed to improving our technical competence for the benefit of you, our clients. As such, our firm is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which requires among other things, a thorough and independent review of our accounting and auditing practice. Our membership represents our commitment to quality, which helps insure that we are on top of new developments and changes in our field and that we comply with professional standards in the conduct of our practice. The results of such reviews are made available to the public. Please ask for a copy of our most recent report. In addition, we require that each professional in our firm take at least 40 hours per year of continuing professional education so that we can bring the most knowledge and up to date accounting and tax principles to our clients. As members of the PCPS, we also belong to and support an organization that looks out for, and speaks out on issues affecting privately held companies and small to medium-sized businesses.

We believe it is extremely important to keep in touch with our clients. For this reason, we try to meet with each of our clients several times a year. These meetings enable us to review their tax situation and make any necessary adjustments. We are also able to update our clients as to changes in tax laws that may specifically affect them, and plan ahead for these changes. Our goal is always to attempt to make these tax law changes work to our clients' advantage.
